The works consisted of various phases of construction that will deliver new and improved facilities, entry and exit routes, and significant upgrading of the infrastructure across the Port in several areas. Initial ground works took place in 2023 in preparation of the substantial works. These ground works were executed to ensure that the Port can continue to operate safely and efficiently for all users for the duration of the substantial works. GDI executed ground works on behalf of John Paul Construction to facilitate the new roads and buildings on the old port overflow truck park.

• Backfilling to structures
• Underground services installation
  • 20km watermains
  • 100km of duct trenches
  • 30km of surface and water water pipelines

• preparation of technical design
• definition of time frames for individual stages
• execution and securing of excavation
